Police Deploy 1,500 Personnel To Guard Christmas Tiberias Church At GBK

JAKARTA - The police deployed 1,500 joint personnel to maintain the 2024 Christmas celebration held by the Tiberias Indonesia Church at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), Central Jakarta.

"For the strength of security personnel as many as 1,500 personnel," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 7.

Susatyo said security involved joint personnel from Polda Metro Jaya, Kodam Jaya and the Provincial Government (Pemprov) DKI Jakarta.

"We carry out security in an integrated manner by prioritizing preemptive security activities to ensure conducive security and social security stability," he said.

Traffic engineering around GBK is applied situationally. Road users who will pass around the GBK Main Stadium are looking for other alternative roads to avoid traffic congestion.

"Security officers are not carrying firearms. Serve our brothers humanely and professionally," said the Police Chief.

Susatyo appealed to the congregation who worship to remain orderly. The 2024 Tiberias Indonesia Church Christmas Celebration starts at 17.00 WIB until 23.00 WIB.
