ASDP Implements Area Restrictions On Ferry Ticket Purchase Areas Ahead Of Christmas And New Year

JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) will apply the limiting radius of the area for purchasing online ferry tickets ahead of the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year Post Operations, namely on December 11, 2023.

ASDP Corporate Secretary Shelvy Arifin said the purpose of determining the radius is to create reliable and quality ferry ports and transports referring to four factors, namely safety, security, services, and environmental pollution.

"Detecting restrictions on accessibility areas for online ferry ticket purchases using the GPS Location feature available on each customer's smartphone device. If the customer accesses ticket reservations whose location is within a limited radius, a pop up error message will appear when pressing the schedule search button," Shelvy said in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Sunday, November 26.

The purchase area restrictions are based on the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number 28 of 2016 concerning the Obligation of Crossing Transportation Passengers Having Tickets, Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number 19 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Electronic Ferry Transport Tickets.

Then, the letter from the Director General of Hubdat AP.406/1/5/DJPD/2023 regarding the Arrangement of Electronic Ticket Ordering Services around the Port is also the result of discussions and directions for traffic and crossing arrangements for the smooth operation of the Nataru Command Post 2023/2024 led by the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of PUPR, and Korlantas Polri.

ASDP explained that when the regulation was enacted, the ticket purchase accessibility system on ferryzy.com and ferry's official partner could not serve ticket purchases in the predetermined area.

"Thus, ticket purchases independently through the ferry application and the trip.ferizy.com website are recommended to have been carried out long ago. Judging that ticket purchases can be made since D-60 departures, service users can prepare and plan their journey carefully," said Shelvy.

Then, he continued, for the four main ASDP ports, service users are also advised to ensure that the internet and GPS Location connection on their devices has been activated to ensure smoothness during the ticket purchase process.

Meanwhile, the radius of restriction on accessibility for ticket purchases is from the outer side of Merak Harbor to the Pesona Merak Hotel or about 4.71 km, from the outermost side of Bakauheni Port to the Agricultural Quarantine Center or about 4.24 km, from the outermost side of Ketapang Port to the Sritanjung Terminal or about 2.65 km, and from the outermost side of Gilimanuk Port to the Cargo Terminal or about 2 km.

ASDP hopes that the implementation of these regulations can support the fulfillment of reliable port management and increase the compliance of service users to be able to have tickets from far before the port or no later than H-1 departure has a ticket.

"This of course can minimize the inaccuracy of the identity of passengers and vehicles, traffic around the port will become more orderly, break the density to reduce the waste caused by the queue of passengers," said Shelvy.
