4 KPK Leaders Ready To Be Summoned By Polda Metro In Firli Case, Johanis Tanak: We Obey The Law

Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak confirmed that he would fulfill the summons of the Polda Metro Jaya regarding the alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities from former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo who ensnared KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri.

This certainty is believed to also apply to other deputy chairmen, Alexander Marwata, Nurul Ghufron, and Nawawi Pomolango.

"We as citizens, of course, we obey the law. If we follow a legal process like that," Johanis told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Saturday morning, November 25.

Johanis emphasized that the mechanism for investigating allegations of corruption that will be carried out by the police will be followed cooperatively. The KPK wants to be a good example for other parties whose cases they are dealing with.

In this way, it is hoped that legal certainty can be carried out.

"Then there is, there is another APH that will also ask for information. We must also obey it so that a case can be clearly disclosed," he said.

"So there is a legal certainty for law enforcement officers in this case, Polda Metro Jaya, in uncovering a corruption case," continued Johanis.

As previously reported, the Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, said four anti-corruption commission leaders would be summoned in connection with the case that ensnared Firli Bahuri. The summons will be held next week.

"Including that, we are on an agenda for next week's examination regarding the examination of the leaders of the Indonesian KPK," Ade told reporters, Friday, November 24.

Ade did not specify the exact time of the summons. Meanwhile, for the examination of Filri as a suspect, it cannot be conveyed.

He only emphasized that investigators would first examine witnesses and experts.

"What is clear is that starting on November 27, 2023, Monday tomorrow the entire series of follow-up series of investigations related to requests for information both against witnesses and experts have been carried out for the next week," said Ade.

Firli Bahuri was officially named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22.

Several pieces of evidence that became the basis for determining the suspect, namely, foreign exchange documents worth Rp7.4 billion. Then, there were also the results of the extraction of 21 cellphones.

In the case of alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities, Firli was charged with Article 12e, 12B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. Retired Bhayangkara Corps is threatened with life imprisonment.
