SLEMAN - The Environment Agency (DLH) of Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region said that the progress of the construction of the Tamanmartani Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) in Kapanewon (Kevamatan) Kalasan had begun to install waste processing equipment.

"The construction of the Tamanmartani TPST continues to be mentioned, and is currently entering the final stage in the form of installing waste processing equipment," said Head of DLH Sleman Regency Epiphana Kristiyani as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 21.

According to him, according to the Tamanmartani TPST construction contract, it will be completed on December 7, including the installation of waste processing equipment.

"After all the waste processing tools are installed, a test of the equipment will be carried out to process waste, whether it can be operated or not," he said.

TPST Tamanmartani has three waste processing modules that operate, equipped with various tools.

"There are several waste processing tools, such as a conveyor machine for the process of selecting organic and inorganic or plastic waste," he said.

Epiphana said that the waste that entered the Tamanmartani TPST would be dried up and then cut it with a machine that could make the waste of the same length of 5 to 10 centimeters.

"Then the waste is processed into 'Refuse Derived Fuel' (RDF) or often called garbage chips. This RDF can be used as an alternative fuel," he said.

If it is operational, the Tamanmartani TPST can accommodate a maximum capacity of up to 90 tons of waste per day. One module is estimated to accommodate up to 30 tons of waste per day.

"However, when operated later, we estimate that it will only be able to process up to 60 tons of waste per day with 50 percent of the processed waste being able to become RDF," he said.

TPST Tamanmartani in Kapanewon Kalasan was built with a budget ceiling of Rp. 6.7 billion for land preparation and construction of Rp. 7.4 billion.

The budget is sourced from the Sleman Regency APBD worth IDR 7.4 billion and the DIY Special Fund (DANAis) worth IDR 6.8 billion with an operational budget ceiling of IDR 2.4 billion.
