Optimistic That The Pilkada Law Law Law Is Granted By The Constitutional Court, Regional Heads Will Continue Until 2024

Bogor Deputy Mayor, Dedie A Rachim, said he was optimistic that the lawsuit against the Pilkada Law or Law submitted by 7 regional heads to the Constitutional Court (MK) would be granted.

In a sense, if the Pilkada Law lawsuit is granted, the Mayor of Bogor and his deputy Dedie A Rachim will continue to serve as Deputy Mayor of Bogor until 2024.

"God willing, we pray, because I think, yes, I am optimistic," said Dedie, Monday, November 20.

Dedie A Rachim himself is one of 7 regional heads who filed a lawsuit against the Pilkada Law to the Constitutional Court. Meanwhile, 6 other regional heads such as Maluku Governor Murad Ismail, Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Dardak, Mayor of Bogor Bima Arya.

Then, the Mayor of Gorontalo Marten A Taha, the Mayor of Padang Hendri Septa, and the Mayor of Tarakan Khairul.

On this occasion, Dedie A Rachim also explained the contents of the Pilkada Law lawsuit submitted to the Constitutional Court.

"So, in the judicial review lawsuit, we did not ask to change the article, we only asked for an explanation," said the Deputy Mayor of Bogor.

"This means that it is not substantial, not then changing the construction of the law that has been brought under control, only asking for clarity," continued Dedie A Rachim.

Because, he said, in the 2018 Pilkada, there was a regional head who was indeed inaugurated in 2018, and he was also inaugurated in 2019.

Meanwhile, the Pilkada participants who were purely 2018 (anaugurated in 2018), most of them have been decided by the Constitutional Court, their positions expire in 2023.

Meanwhile, the fate of the position of regional head who was inaugurated in 2019 has never been discussed whether it should expire in 2023 or follow according to the length of the position of head of blood. Thus, this is the basis for his lawsuit.

"In the decree on the appointment of the Minister of Home Affairs, it is still stated that the deadline for office is in April 2024, so that's what we then asked for a little explanation from the Constitutional Court," he said.

Then, in the Regional Government Law, it is stated that regional heads have served for 5 years. "Well, we have not served for 5 years (if we finish in 2023)," added Dedie A Rachim.

So, according to the Regional Government Law, regional heads should serve for 5 years, especially since they think there is no overlap with the Pilkada stages

Asked when the Constitutional Court's decision estimate will come out, the Deputy Mayor of Bogor estimates that the decision will come out in December 2023. "Maybe in early December, or mid-December," he concluded.
