BPBD received reports that the plane crashed from residents. Videos of the crash of the plane including fire and black smoke have also spread.

It was reported that the location of the crash of the Indonesian Air Force plane was far from settlements. The location is said to be only accessible to two-wheeled vehicles.

There has been no official statement from the TNI regarding the Indonesian Air Force plane that crashed in Pasuruan.

Quoted from tni-au.mil.id, the Super Tucano aircraft purchased by the Indonesian government from Brazil in 2012 was placed in Squadron 21 Abd Malang.

Super Tucano is equipped with an FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) system, adopting the StarSAFIRE III type which is placed under the aircraft body.

With FLIR, it is possible for the crew to target, navigate, and identify. This system also allows surveillance and attacks both during the day and night, and is able to deal with all weather conditions.
