JAKARTA Meta has finally launched an alternative for registered users who don't want to get ads on Facebook and Instagram. Of course, this alternative is subject to additional costs.

From The Verge report, a paid version without ads has been launched in Europe. The launch of this version is one of the responses from Meta to comply with privacy policies in the European Union (EU).

With these rules, social media platforms must give users the option to be able to view ads or not. However, the amount of cost for this version without ads is being highlighted.

The free version of this ad costs 9.99 euros per month when buying on websites. If Facebook and Instagram users buy via Google or Apple apps, the price will be 12.99 euros (IDR 218 thousand).

The costs charged are not only that. In another announcement from Meta, after March 1 next year, customers will have to pay extra fees for each profile linked to the Meta Account Center.

This additional fee is 6 euros (IDR 100,000) if purchased directly on a website or 8 euros (IDR 134 thousand) if you buy a version without ads in the app store. It should be noted that not all users can subscribe to this version.

Meta only offers their ad-free services to users over 18 years of age. They also introduced this subscription alternative as a demand because the law is changing in your region (Europe).

By continuing to use the free version, all Meta users in Europe will continue to see products and brands with personalized ads based on user data as Meta makes user information the target of advertising.
