The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Aceh Regency noted that as many as 30 villages spread across a number of sub-districts in the area, as of Friday, were still flooded with water levels in a number of locations reaching more than one meter.

"Until now, we are still trying to collect data on affected villages," said West Aceh BPBD Operations Control Center Coordinator Mashuri, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 10.

According to him, the current flood disaster was caused by high rainfall that had occurred since November 7, 2023, causing two large rivers in West Aceh Regency to overflow.

The two rivers consist of the Krueng Woyla River and the Krueng Meureubo River.

Mashuri explained that there were also locations affected by flooding in West Aceh Regency, including Woyla Timur District covering Blang Dalam Village, Alue Kuyun Village, Blang Makmu Village, Alue Meganda Village, Blang Luah Village, Thanung Pinto Village.

In Woyla Barat Subdistrict, the flood also submerged Napai Village, Cot LLgan LM Village, Cot Rambong Village, Alue Leuhob Village, Blang Cot Mameh Village, Blang Cot Rubeh Village, Leubok Pasi Ara Village, Lhok Malee Village, Ulee Pasi Ara Village, Blang Luah Village, Peulekung Village.

Kemudian di Kecamatan Arongan Lambalek banjir juga merendam Desa Gunung Pulo, Desa Peuribu, Desa atau Peuraho, Desa Keub, jalan menuju Desa Karang Hampa dan Deaa Cot Kumbang.

Mashuri explained that although many residents' houses were flooded, until now there has been no location for evacuation points.

"People affected by the flood are still taking refuge in relatives' homes," said Mashuri.
