ODGJ Perpetrators Of Sexual Harassment In Matraman Circulating Because Families Run Out Of Money For Treatment

JAKARTA - The ODGJ man with the initials IP (51) who sexually harassed an elementary school student with the initials APK (9) on Jalan Kayumanis VII, Matraman, has been suffering from mental disorders for 21 years.

However, because his parents had limited costs for treatment and treatment at a mental hospital, IP was forced to be allowed to roam the streets.

"The ODGJ perpetrator is no longer able to afford medical expenses at the Mental Hospital," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Matraman Police, Iptu Mochamad Zen to VOI, Wednesday, November 8, evening.

Selain memiliki rekam medis yang menyatakan bahwa pelaku IP alami ODGJ, keterangan lainnya juga dikuat dari Ketua RT setempat bahwa pelaku mengalami gangguan jiwa.

"According to the head of the RT and the perpetrator's mother, the perpetrator has been suffering from mental disorders for 21 years so he cannot respond properly. There is a medical record," he said.

After learning that the perpetrator was ODGJ, the mother of APK (9), the victim of sexual harassment was not willing to make a police report.

Meanwhile, IT, the perpetrator's biological mother, also apologized for the attitude of her son who abused her.

"The perpetrator's mother (ODGJ) apologized for her child's behavior. The victim's parents were not willing to make a police report regarding knowing the alleged perpetrator of ODGJ," he said.

Meanwhile, the perpetrators were secured to the government's Social Service and Mental Hospital for psychiatric treatment.
