JAKARTA - Less than 1x24 hours after the circulation of cases of sexual harassment against elementary school students committed by elderly men in Kayumanis VIII, Matraman, East Jakarta, the Matraman Police Criminal Investigation Unit conducted security against the perpetrators, Wednesday, November 8.

The perpetrator is known to have the initials IP (51) a resident of Kayumanis VIII. The perpetrator was arrested while at his house. However, when interrogated by the police, the perpetrator answered in words that were not connected.

After the police conducted an investigation by asking witnesses of a number of residents, it turned out that the perpetrators of the abuse were People with Mental Disorders (ODGJ).

"The perpetrator has been secured, the initials are IP. But the perpetrator has ODGJ. There is a medical record belonging to the perpetrator stating that he is ODGJ," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Matraman Police, Iptu Mochamad Zen to VOI, Wednesday, November 8, evening.

Even though they found out that the perpetrator had a mental disorder, the police did not easily believe it. After the Criminal Investigation Unit asked for information from three witnesses from the Head of RT 14/07 Kayumanis Village, the perpetrator's mother and the victim's mother, it turned out that it was true that the perpetrators were natural to ODGJ.

From the information from the Head of RT 14/07, Sarbini and the perpetrator's mother with the initials IT, stated that the perpetrator with the initials IP had suffered from mental disorders for a long time.

"The perpetrator has been suffering from mental disorders for 21 years, so he cannot respond properly. It is proven with medical records," he said.

Previously, it was reported that information circulated about an act of sexual harassment against a girl with the initials APK (9) in the Jalan Kayumanis VII area, Matraman District, East Jakarta.

The abuse occurred when the victim with the initials APK, an elementary school student (SD) came home from school on Monday, November 6. However, the incident began to circulate on Wednesday, November 8, afternoon.
