JAKARTA - Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said her government would file an urgent complaint against Israel to the United Nations Security Council (DK PBB) in response to Tel Aviv's "targeting of civilians and children" in southern Lebanon.

"The targeting of Israel's enemies against civilians in its aggression against Lebanon, and the deaths of four, including three children, in the south tonight and injuring others with gunfire, constitutes a heinous crime," the prime minister's office said in a statement quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Monday, November 6.

"The crimes committed by the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon and Gaza are new stains on global conscience," he said.

He stressed "this heinous act will not be missed, and will be followed up by the government, through international communications, and urgent complaints against Israel's enemies will be submitted to the Security Council."

Lebanese National News Agency previously said Israel's drones targeted civilian vehicles in Bint Jbeil City in Nabatiye Province.

The victims were a woman and three grandchildren aged 10, 12, and 14, in which the Israeli attack also injured the mother of the three children, and journalist Samir Ayoub, who is a relative of the victim, who was in another car.

In response, Lebanese Hezbollah groups said they fired rockets targeting Kiryat Shemona settlements north of Israel.

Israeli troops and Hezbollah have been involved in clashes for a month along the border since the start of the latest conflict in Gaza on October 7.
