MKMK Ensures Constitutional Justice Case Decision Is The Best Solution

The Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) has ensured that the decision on the alleged violation of the code of ethics against nine constitutional judges can provide the best solution to democracy in Indonesia.

"Our hope is that through the Constitutional Court's decision on Tuesday (7/11), it can provide the best solution, including regarding these nine judges," said Jimly Asshiddiqie as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 2.

He ensured that the decision in the case involving nine judges was the best step to find a fair and fair solution, especially now that Indonesia will face the 2024 General Election.

According to him, the democratic party will have a final dispute that ends at the table of the Constitutional Court.

"For this reason, the final dispute over the results of the general election for both the Pilres and the legislative election takes place well here and trustedly, because if it is not trusted, it can cause problems, it can trigger conflicts everywhere," said Jimly.

According to him, the Constitutional Court as an institution that has a big responsibility in maintaining justice and the constitution must have integrity, so it must take the best decision for the community and in accordance with applicable law.

Jimly said the reporters related to the case had reasonable arguments, but he emphasized that the MKMK would not decide cases in a hurry, but would apply fair principles.

For information, the MKMK is currently handling cases of alleged violations of the code of ethics on the Constitutional Court's Decision Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023 concerning the age limit for presidential/vice presidential candidates at least 40 (fourty) years old or once/in the position elected through the general election, including regional head elections.

Furthermore, MKMKakan accelerated the decision on reports of alleged violations of the code of ethics of nine constitutional judges on November 7 before the last chance to propose changes to the presidential/vice-presidential candidate pair.
