Detachment 88 Report: Enforcement And Terrorism Actions Decreased In The Last 3 Years

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror stated that there has been a decrease in acts and acts of terrorism over the past three years. The decline is quite significant.

"The decline in terror incidents and perpetrators of terrorism crimes in the last 3 years," said Densus 88 spokesman Kombes Aswin Siregar when confirmed, Thursday, November 2.

Based on the data, 370 times law enforcement was carried out and there were six acts of terrorism during 2021. Then, the number decreased in 2022 with 248 law enforcement and one act of terrorism occurred.

Meanwhile, in 2023, the numbers will decrease. As of October 2023, 104 law enforcement activities have been carried out and there have been no acts of terror.

"We hope that this year we can keep our country free from terror incidents," said Aswin.

Densus 88 Anti-terror Police arrested 59 terrorist suspects in several parts of Indonesia during October 2023. They are a Jemaah Islamiyah, Jemaah Ansharut Daulah, and Anshor Daulah groups.

Of the dozens of terrorism suspects, 40 of them are the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah group. From the results of the investigation, they plan to thwart the 2024 General Election process.

"This is an AU leadership group called activities planned by this group to thwart or disrupt the course of the election democracy party," said Aswin.

The plan to thwart the 2024 election is because they think democracy is an act that violates the law. So, it must be destroyed.

"For them, election is a series of democracies, where democracy is immoral, democracy is something that violates the law for them," he said.

One of their plans to thwart the implementation of the 2024 General Election is to attack law enforcement officials.

The attack is expected to have an impact on an atmosphere that feels tense and dangerous. Thus, the five-year democratic party was postponed.
