Riau Police Chief Transfers Sector Police Chief Who Brings Corruption Prisoners Out Of Cells

PEKANBARU - Riau Regional Police Chief (Kapolda) Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal transferred the Bungarraya Sector Police Chief, Siak Regency, AKP SelAMEt after going viral with a corruption convict checking his oil palm plantation.

The Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Hery Murwono, said that AKP SelAMEt was transferred to Yanma Riau Police in the context of an examination related to alleged violations of the code of ethics and profession. Currently, he is still undergoing examination in the Profession and Security Division of the Riau Police.

"Currently, his status is still being investigated," said Kombes Hery in Pekanbaru, Sunday, October 29, quoted from Antara.

The Riau Police Propam took over the handling of the case after the Riau Police Chief Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal gave an order to the Head of Propam Kombes Edwin Louis Sengka and the Special Criminal Director of the Riau Police, Kombes Teguh Widodo, to step down directly in this case.

Meanwhile, the suspect in the corruption case on behalf of Suparmin, who was previously in the Bungaraya Police Detention Center, has now been transferred to the Siak Resort Police. He is a suspect in misappropriation of subsidized fertilizers that cost the state Rp5.4 billion.

Previously, AKP SelAMEt was suspected of carrying prisoners in a suspected corruption case out of the cell by car. Initially the detainee admitted to being sick so he was taken to the Tengku Rafian Siak Regional General Hospital but was said to be closed.

Then, they went to the oil palm plantation which was said to belong to the prisoner named Suparmin in Rawang Air Putih Village, Siak District. Based on photos and videos spread across the messaging and social media application, Suparmin was seen wearing a sarong and shirt shirt without being handcuffed.

Suparmin, who is a state civil servant at the Siak Agriculture Service, has been named a suspect in alleged corruption in the misappropriation of subsidized fertilizers in Kerinci Kanan District in 2021. He was named a suspect along with six other people
