The KPK Was Reminded Not To Block The Legal Process Of The Alleged Ex-Minister Of Agriculture SYL

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesia Calling (IM) 57+ Institute, Praswad Nugraha reminded the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) not to hinder the investigation process of alleged extortion by the KPK leadership against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo at Polda Metro Jaya.

Do not let them commit violations that are often submitted to litigants or the case is being investigated.

"The KPK as an institution should not take any action that is included in the classification to obstruct the investigation and investigation process carried out by the police," said Praswad in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, October 24.

Instead of obstructing the legal process, Praswad said, the anti-corruption commission should be helped by the legal investigation.

"This is because the alleged existence of a legal mafia in the KPK has hampered the handling of the SYL case," he said.

"This nodal corruption eradication must be cleaned up at this time," continued Praswad.

As previously reported, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri should have been questioned by the Polda Metro Jaya on Friday, October 20. However, he chose not to attend on the grounds that there was another agenda.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, who said Firli was on duty elsewhere. In addition, the absence was due to his colleague still studying the examination material because a new summons was received on Thursday, October 19.

The case of alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities by the KPK leadership against Syahrul Yasin Limpo began when Polda Metro Jaya received a complaint on August 12, 2023.

Then the collection of information materials (pulbaket) was carried out by the Tipidkor Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya based on a letter issued on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Not long after, the police issued an investigation warrant on August 21. A number of people were questioned, including Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

After the series of investigations were completed, investigators carried out a case title. As a result, a criminal element was found so that the status of the case was upgraded to the investigation stage.
