Gaza Crisis, Yenny Wahid Calls For Solidarity For Palestine

SURABAYA - The daughter of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia KH Abdurrahman Wahid, Zannuba Ariffah Chafsoh or Yenny Wahid called for solidarity for the people of Gaza, Palestine, during the commemoration of the 2023 National Santri Day at the Hero Monument, Surabaya, East Java, Sunday, October 22.

"In the context of National Santri Day, I would like to express my solidarity with what is happening in Gaza, Palestine, at this time," Yenny Wahid said as reported by ANTARA.

Yenny said that currently there are 2 million residents of Gaza, Palestine, who are threatened with being trapped and do not have access to clean water, access to electricity and medicines.

"Even though the conditions there are very concerning. Through the commemoration of Santri Day I want to knock on to continue sending prayers and moral support to the Gazans who are currently in a pinched position," he said.

President Joko Widodo became the coach at the 2023 Santri Day Ceremony. The 2023 Santri Day Grand Apple was held at the Surabaya Hero Monument attended by Rais Aam Nahdlatul Ulama KH Miftachul Achyar, PBNU Chairman KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, and PBNU ranks.

Also present were the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Tohir, Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan and Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia.

Furthermore, the Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan-RB) Abdullah Azwar Anas, TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono, National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa and East Java Forkompimda,

The 2023 Santri Day Apple started at around 06.30 WIB. Prior to the President's direction, the Head of PBNU read out the Jihad Resolution which was published on October 22, 1945. The 2023 Santri Day Apple Prayer was led by Rais 'Aam PBNU KH Miftachul Achyar.
