Polda Metro Again Letters To KPK, This Time Asks To Submit Documents Of The Alleged SYL Extortion Case

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has again written to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This time regarding the request to submit several documents related to the alleged corruption case in the form of extortion or gratification of former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL. "We have written a letter to the leadership of the KPK RI asking to submit documents," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak to reporters, Friday, October 20. However, it was not clearly explained about the document in question. It was only conveyed that the document would be confiscated to be used as evidence in a series of cases of alleged extortion against Syahrul Yasin Limpo. In fact, the investigative team has received permission from the South Jakarta District Court regarding the request for the document. "It has been determined by the South Jakarta District Court regarding a special permit for confiscation. Meanwhile, while the letter in question is because this is part of the investigation material, we cannot reveal it yet," he said. The permit letter has been sent today. So, the KPK leadership is said to have to hand it over on Monday, October 23. "Referring to the determination of a special permit for confiscation from the District Court to be submitted to investigators on Monday, October 23, 2023 at the Polda Metro Jaya for confiscation by investigators from the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya," said Ade.

Previously, investigators from the Sub-Directorate of Corruption at the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya had written to the KPK some time ago. It contained a request for supervision or cooperation in handling cases of alleged corruption in the form of extortion or gratification against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo. However, until now, the KPK has not decided on the request for supervision. The reason, will be reviewed first.
