JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta KPU will start distributing ink for the 2024 General Election on November 8, 2023. This distribution began three days after the ink was produced in Sunter, North Jakarta.

"We will immediately distribute the 2024 election ink," said DKI Jakarta KPU member, Dody Wijaya, to media crews in North Jakarta, Friday, October 20.

The recipients of the initial ink for the 2024 General Election were the East Jakarta KPU and the Thousand Islands. The rest are still waiting for the signing of the warehouse rental contract.

"The warehouse rental has been completed, so distribution will be implemented soon. In early November, the estimate is," said Dody.

Before being distributed, the DKI KPU had already checked the composition and resilience of the ink by applying it to the thumbnails. As a result, the ink persists even though it has been wetted with alcohol or other color fading materials.

"We have checked the composition of the ingredients. It is in accordance with specifications and is also related to resilience. We have carried out tests," said Dody.

The ink packaging process must also be in accordance with the specifications requested by the KPU. Dody also ensures that the 2024 election ink is halal, which means ink does not prevent water from seeping into the skin.

This means that voters who exercise their voting rights later, can still pray and other prayers.
