JAKARTA - The Gegana Polda Metro Jaya team is still investigating the explosion that occurred on Jalan Boat No. 2 RT 07, Guntur Village, Setiabudi, South Jakarta. Setiabudi Police Chief, Kompol Arif Oktora said that currently the Gegana Team was conducting sterilization at the scene of the case (TKP). Meanwhile, the victims who died were still at the scene. "Currently, the Gegana Team is sterilizing, the dead victims are still at the scene," said Arif in a short message, Wednesday, October 18. Arif said that apart from the victim there was one person killed, and there were three other victims who suffered injuries. However, he only suffered minor injuries. Meanwhile, the Head of the South Jakarta Damkar Guntur Team, Bagus Febrianto, suspected that the explosion came from a bomb in the ground.

The incident occurred because the project worker accidentally carried the ground which was suspected to have contained an object that caused the explosion. "The temporary assumption is that the bomb was buried," he said. He added that the Head of the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept., Syamsul Huda, said the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, October 18. "A worker was digging the ground for the foundation, then hit an object buried in the ground. There was an explosion. The explosion was heard until the sub-district office," he concluded.
