Examined In Case Of Alleged SYL Extortion, Saut Situmorang: 15 Questions About Case Handling Stages At The KPK

JAKARTA - Former Deputy of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Saut Situmorang has finished giving testimony as a witness regarding the alleged extortion case by the KPK leadership against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL. Investigators of the Corruption Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya are said to have raised around 15 questions.

"As far as I remember, all 15, which is the substance of 12 questions," Saut told reporters, Tuesday, October 17.

Dozens of questions were asked, investigators explored several things. The first is regarding the understanding of Articles 36 and 65 of Law number 30 of 2002 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission.

The regulation regarding the leadership of the KPK is prohibited from having direct or indirect contact with suspects or other parties who are related to corruption cases handled by the KPK for any reason.

In the regulation, violators can be penalized in the form of five years in prison. "Article 36 and 65 is indeed the goal of the leader who has accessibility information that comes to the KPK so that he doesn't mess around there," he said.

Then, about the mechanism for handling cases originating from public complaints (dumas).

According to him, when the Dumas has been received, the complaint has been handled by the KPK. Moreover, Dumas is the beginning of a hand arrest operation (OTT).

"So the case is, the case that is being handled begins when a public complaint comes in," said Saut.

In handling this case, dozens of witnesses have been questioned. Some of them, Syahrul Yasin Limpo and the Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar. They were questioned at the beginning of the case going up to the investigation stage

Then, investigators have also examined Kevin Egananta, Friday, October 13. He is an ADC or an aide to the Chairman of the KPK, Firli Bahuri.
