BENGKULU - The Bengkulu City Government (Pemkot) has budgeted Rp95.1 million for the procurement of sports equipment in the form of table tennis which will be distributed to nine sub-districts in the region.

The Rp95.1 million fund comes from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for the 2023 changes.

"The Bengkulu City Government (Pemkot) through the Youth and Sports Office will provide table tennis equipment sourced from the revised APBD," said Head of the Bengkulu City Communications and Information Service (Diskominfo), Gitagama Raniputera, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 12.

Table tennis equipment to be given is in the form of balls, bets, net as well as tables to be distributed to nine areas, namely in Gading Cempaka District, Kampung Melayu District.

Furthermore, Muara Bangkahulu District, Ratu Agung District, Ratu Samban District, Sewide District, Singaran Pati District, Sungai Serut District and Teluk Segara District.

Gita explained that the procurement of sports equipment was carried out in order to foster and hone people's abilities in terms of table tennis. In addition, assistance so that it can improve the lives of the people of Bengkulu City who are healthy and raise the spirit of sports.

"Hopefully in the near future we will hand over table tennis equipment to sub-districts. The hope is that the purchase of sports equipment can increase, raise the spirit of sports so that the name of society is prosperous and healthy," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bengkulu City Dispora, Sutapa, said that each sub-district in the area each received equipment in the form of a ball, bet, net and a table.

With the procurement of table tennis equipment, he hopes that people in nine sub-districts of Bengkulu City can make good use of it.

"Hopefully our residents will be healthier by exercising diligently, but the most important thing is that the friendship between residents is getting closer," explained Sutapa.
