Gelora Says 2 New Political Parties Will Support Prabowo, One Of Which Is PSI?

JAKARTA - The Gelora Party said there will be two political parties (political parties) that will support Prabowo Subianto as the 2024 presidential candidate in the near future.

The two political parties automatically joined the Advanced Indonesia Coalition along with Golkar, PAN, PBB and Gelora.

"From the start, Mr. Prabowo's idea was that the Forward Indonesia Coalition was to be an open coalition, a middle ground coalition, and could bring together many political parties. So with the current formation, additional parties are still open," said the Secretary General of the Gelora Party, Mahfuz Sidik. Mahfuz told reporters, Thursday, October 12.

However, Mahfuz was reluctant to reveal whether PSI was one of these parties or not. Remembering that previously there was a code for red and white political parties that would join KIM.

Mahfuz only revealed that the party had conveyed its support to Prabowo. Currently, he said, his party is still waiting for an official declaration from the party concerned.

"In recent developments, there is information that there will be two new additional parties. However, we are still waiting for a declaration from the person concerned as to what party and when they will (join)," said Mahfuz.

It is known that the General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, will receive a visit from the General Chair of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Kaesang Pangarep at his residence in Kertanegara No. 4, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Thursday, October 12, this afternoon.

The meeting for the purpose of political friendship is scheduled for 16.00 WIB.

Previously, Prabowo, who is also a presidential candidate for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), said he would meet Kaesang in the near future. However, the Minister of Defense did not specify when he would meet Kaesang.

"We have plans to meet," said Prabowo in Kertanegara, South Jakarta, Wednesday, October 11.

Prabowo only said that he had sent an invitation to Kaesang and PSI.

"We'll see when the date is. I have invited him," he said.

Apparently, Kaesang had accepted Prabowo's invitation. He said that his party would soon hold a meeting with the Gerindra Party. However, he has not revealed the time and location of the meeting.

"God willing, we have also planned to meet with the Gerindra Party, which has also put forward the presidential candidate Mr. Prabowo," said Kaesang in South Jakarta, Wednesday, October 11.

"There is already a meeting with Gerindra, just wait," he added.
