Deputy Governor Of North Sulawesi Calls Sending Workers Abroad Preventive Steps To Prevent TIP

Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) of North Sulawesi (Sulut) Steven Kandouw said that sending workers abroad was preventive measures to prevent the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO).

"Yes, this is one of the preventive measures taken by the local government, we are optimistic," said Steven in Manado, North Sulawesi, Monday, October 9, quoted by Antara.

The Deputy Governor said that currently Governor Olly Dondokambey is actively sending Nakers abroad who are accommodated, initiated and even regulated by the provincial government.

"The delivery of this workforce is targeted at 2,000 people for one year. We hope that by sending workers abroad it will reduce the probability of TIP," he said.

Therefore, he hopes that the opportunities for the placement of workers abroad will be utilized as well as possible by North Sulawesi youths to achieve a better future.

"The regional government also hopes not to be fooled into working with work that has the potential to become victims of TIP," he said.

The socialization of TIP, said the Deputy Governor, continues to be carried out, including cooperating with all relevant parties, including local governments, police ranks, and religious leaders.

"This TIP is like an iceberg where only 76 people have been caught. Many may be ashamed to report. Prevention efforts are needed," he said.

The Deputy Governor also gave his appreciation to the police who were quick to handle TIP cases.
