Gerindra Asks The Public To Be Patient About Prabowo's Vice Presidential Candidate

Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani asked the public to be patient regarding the name that will be Prabowo Subianto's companion in the 2024 presidential election.

"Sing (Yang) is patient about the name (of the candidate) of the vice president," said Muzani, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 9.

Muzani revealed that the leadership of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) party is scheduled to hold a meeting in Jakarta, Monday, but has not yet discussed the future vice presidential candidate (cawapres) for Prabowo.

"We haven't discussed the names (of the) vice presidential candidates today," he added.

According to Muzani, the KIMitu party meeting discussed the basic format for Prabowo Subianto's victory as a candidate for the 2024 General Election. The results of the meeting will be brought to the general chairman of the KIM party to be strengthened and mutually agreed upon.

"The names that fill are the domains of the general chairman of the party, they are the ones who decide," said Ahmad Muzani.

Previously, the name of the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, appeared as a candidate for vice president for Prabowo Subianto.

The executive council of the Rampai Nusantara region of East Java Province declared the name of President Joko Widodo's eldest son as a candidate for vice president in the 2024 presidential election.

"We see Mas Gibran, as a young figure who has experience and achievements in institutional governance when he was mayor of Surakarta, certainly representing the younger generation to become leaders in this country," said Secretary General of Rampai Nusantara, East Java, Eko Prasetyo.

Apart from Rampai Nusantara, the volunteer group of the Young Ulama Solidarity Jokowi (Samawi) also proposed Gibran's name as Prabowo's companion in the 2024 presidential election.
