The SAR Team Is Still Looking For A Chinese Citizen Lost On Komodo Island

The joint SAR team expanded the search area for Yi Liu (27), a Chinese citizen who went missing in the Long Beach Beach area of Labuan Bajo while traveling to the Komodo National Park area, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province on October 3.

"The search operation for foreigners from China who went missing at Long Beach Beach was expanded as an effort by the SAR team to find missing victims while traveling in the area," said Head of the Maumere Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) Supriyanto Ridwan, quoted by ANTARA, Sabti, October 7.

The search for Yi Liu (27) a foreigner from China who has been missing since October 3, 2023 while traveling around Long Beach Labuan Bajo beach, West Manggarai Regency has entered its fifth day, but so far it has not been found.

According to Supriyanto, the search for victims was carried out by a joint SAR team from various related elements focused on Long Beach waters by conducting sweeps along the coast as far as 16 nautical miles.

The search for victims was carried out by the SAR team by mobilizing transportation equipment such as the RIB West Manggarai SAR Post, Searider KSOP Labuan Bajo, the Qifadzah and Sekoci Pinisi Ships.

The search for victim Yi Liu was also carried out using a snorkeling and sweeping method on the coast of Long Beach for five kilometers.

"Until the fifth day of the search operation carried out by the joint SAR team in West Manggarai Regency, they still have not found any victims, the SAR team is still trying to find victims," said Supriyanto Ridwan.

The search operation for the sixth day by the joint SAR Team will be carried out on Sunday (8/10) by snorkeling and sweeping the sea surface around the scene and sweeping the coast of Long Beach for six kilometers.
