The South Aceh Police investigated and processed the crime scene (TKP) of eight gold miners buried by landslides in Gampong Simpang Dua, South Aceh Regency.
South Aceh Police Chief AKBP Nova Suryandaru said the investigation was to reveal the cause of the incident which resulted in eight miners undergoing treatment at the hospital.
"We are investigating this incident in depth to reveal the cause. We ensure legal action against anyone responsible for the case," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 4.
Previously, eight gold miners at the PT PSU mine site in Gampong Simpang Dua, Central Kluet District, South Aceh Regency, were buried by landslides, Tuesday (3/10) at around 19.30 WIB.
The victim was successfully evacuated and is now being treated at the Central Kluet Health Center and the Yuliddin Away Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Tapaktuan, South Aceh Regency.
The police chief said the investigation and processing of the crime scene involved personnel from the Certain Crime Unit (Tipiter) and the Identification Unit of the South Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
"The landslide occurred allegedly due to illegal mining. The victim was suddenly buried by mining materials," said Nova Suryandaru.
