JAKARTA - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, visited the 10th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla at his residence on Jalan Brawijaya, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Puan admitted that her visit was to stay in touch as well as ask for opinions regarding the current political and economic situation. During the family meeting, Puan was treated by coto Makassar as a lunch made by Jusuf Kalla's wife, Mufidah Kalla. Puan admitted that she was close to the family of the senior Golkar Party politician. "Alhamdulillah, I was treated with food that was very delicious by Ida's mother. I ate coto Makassar and batork ballads, there was tempeh too. So food from Makassar to Padang, West Sumatra then went to Java," said Puan at JK's residence, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Wednesday, October 4. "This very family meeting is of course a happiness for me. I haven't seen each other in touch with Mr. JK and my mother for a long time. Because she is like my parents, my seniors," he continued. Puan remembers the moment of togetherness when she served as Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture in the Working Cabinet. Puan admitted that she often discussed with JK as vice president regarding the work and issues of the nation and state. "So on this occasion, I came here of course asking for Pak JK's views and opinions regarding the current situation, not only the economy, he has provided a lot of input on today's economic situation and in the future," he said. "Then when combined with a political situation later it will be what must be considered properly, because today's economy is with a political situation next year where we will enter the upcoming elections, so it must be very much considered," continued Puan. The chairman of the PDIP DPP also agreed with JK on the 2024 presidential election. Where there may be different choices of presidential and vice presidential candidates, but still maintain unity for the future development of Indonesia. "As Mr. JK said that it is permissible for us to have different views or different choices, but the most important thing that we must do in the future is how Indonesia will continue to be united and the existing development will continue to run as we expected. Don't let things that are good now, but because there is an election or a 5-year democratic party then it becomes not good for the nation and state," he said. Puan said that the conversation this afternoon took place warmly and with full kinship. He said JK was like his own parents. "Of course, these inputs are interspersed with jokes and delicious food, making the atmosphere very warm, and it didn't feel like I've been talking for almost two hours. And I hope that what is being discussed can open all the hearts and eyes of everyone who has seen this meeting. It's okay for us to have different views, but as a family, I think he is both senior and my family," said Puan. "We must continue to stay in touch, and respect each other so that it is indeed the best for the nation and state," he added.

Previously, the 10th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) was visited by the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, at her residence on Jalan Brawijaya, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, this afternoon. JK admitted to discussing the presidential election with the chairman of the PDIP DPP. JK initially admitted that he did not know that Puan would visit his residence because he was invited by Mufidah Kalla. He said that Puan wanted to eat the Makassar coto made by his wife. According to JK, the three presidential candidates currently have the same opportunity to become the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia.
