JAKARTA - One thousand wheelchairs will be distributed to stroke sufferers (megapolimmstroker) at the 2nd Indonesian Stroke Jamboree, Sunday, October 29 2023 at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta.

Chairman of the Indonesian Stroke Foundation, Major General TNI (Ret.) Dr. Dr. Ratmono Sp.S's duties MARS.MH stated this in a meeting with the Assistant Regional Secretary for Health Affairs of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, Dr. Widyastuti, MKM, at City Hall, October 3 attended by relevant regional work units. The Jamboree also commemorates World Stroke Day.

The reality is that Indonesian citizens, including hospital service units or health facilities, have not given much attention to sufferers. As a result, misery lasts for years. This disease is one of five types of deadly non-communicable diseases.

The number of people who died during 2022 reached 3,600 people or 6.4 percent of the number of deaths in Jakarta. From the beginning of the year until September 2023, the number of new stroke cases in community health centers reached 2,941 people.

Responding to this condition requires help from people around or closest to the sufferer who understand how to treat it before being taken to the nearest hospital. There is still about two hours before the medical team can recover.

Gymnastics Festival

In the jamboree series, the Indonesian Stroke Foundation held a festival of preventive exercise, early aid measures and advanced treatment methods for stroke sufferers. Deployed two units of field hospital equipment.

Visitors can detect whether they have signs of stroke, so they can be treated immediately medically.

The jamboree starts at 07:00 at city hall. Continue exploring the heritage tourist area or Weltevreden cultural heritage area, namely Medan Merdeka, Pasar Baru, Pos Bloc, Jakarta Arts Building, Daendels Palace, Post Office, Cathedral Church, Istiqlal Mosque, enter the Banteng Square area, until the evening with entertainment.

Various parties were involved, including the Jakarta Weltevreden City Foundation, which is engaged in utilizing cultural heritage sites for world-class tourist destinations with a positive impact on the people's economy.

"We are collaborating with the United Artists Union of Indonesia to present performances of various types of art and will invite the Community of Clothed Women in a convoy to explore the cultural heritage tourism route," said Toto Irianto, Chair of the Jakarta Weltevreden City Foundation. "Efforts to contribute to promoting the legendary tourist destination area in Jakarta."

Responding to this agenda, the provincial government welcomed it positively while supporting the jamboree event. "We support this event," emphasized Kesera Assistant Dr. Widyastuti.
