JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono explained about the change in the nomenclature of the puskesmas at the village level in Jakarta to become auxiliary health centers.

This name change is contained in Governor's Decree Number 636 of 2023 concerning the Center for Public Health and the Community Health Center for Assistance.

Heru emphasized that he did not change the nomenclature on his own wishes. Heru said the nomenclature change was carrying out the mandate of the Minister of Health Regulation (PMK) Number 43 of 2019.

"The DKI Regional Government has never changed its name and nomenclature according to PMK Number 43 of 2019. With the Minister of Health's decision, the initial level was that there were sub-district health centers and sub-district health centers, now the sub-district health center is the puskesmas, and the sub-district is the supporting health center," said Heru at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, October 3.

According to Heru, the affirmation of the nomenclature of the puskesmas which has just been established in Jakarta makes it easier for the public to get treatment services according to their needs.

"So there must be leveling. If he is sick with the flu, he comes to the assistant health center so that it is not far away and does not cause trouble. Likewise, if the level of illness requires more attention, he can go to the sub-district or now the mention of the puskesmas," explained Heru.

However, Heru emphasized that the difference in the nomenclature of the puskesmas and the auxiliary Health Center did not necessarily distinguish the quality of health services between the sub-district and the sub-district levels.

"In other areas, the health center for assistance is that the paramedics are enough nurses or midwives. But in DKI, the level is higher, there are doctors and there are also nurses. Almost the same as the puskesmas in the sub-district," he said.
