JAMBI - The Basarnas Jambi team sent a SAR team to help search for three of the five residents of Teluk Bawah, Tebo Regency, who disappeared due to drowning while they were playing in the water and bathing on the banks of the Batanghari River, Jambi.

"The SAR team is currently at the scene to search for three of the five residents who drowned in the Batanghari River," said Head of Basarnas Jambi Kornelis, Sunday, October 1.

The five victims were residents of Teluk Bawah, Tebo Ilir District, Tebo Regency, Jambi, who drowned in the Batanghari River.

The chronology of the incident occurred at 15.30 WIB when five residents named Lasmini, Ratna, Ali, Afif and Sumiati were bathing around the emerging sand area, precisely in the Batanghari River.

It is suspected that the five people were carried away by the river current, where two people were found safe, namely Lasmini and Ratna, then taken directly to the Community Health Center and three other people, namely Ali (10), Afif (20), and Sumiati (36) have not yet been found.

After receiving this information, the Bungo SAR Post Team immediately moved to the location of the incident to carry out a search using Water Rescue equipment, Rubber Boats, Aqua Eyes and Evacuation Equipment. It is estimated that the team arrived at the location in around 2.5 hours.

Until this news was published, the Bungo SAR Post Team together with residents had found one of the three drowned victims and the search will continue tomorrow.
