BOGOR - Satreskrim Bogor City Police, West Java, revealed the results of a re-examination of latent fingerprints attached to sharp weapons similar to sadik and reconstruction of the perpetrator's face from CCTV footage in the murder case of SMK student Baranangsiang Yubelia Noven Cahya Rejeki (18) alias Noven on January 8, 2019 which went viral again on social media.

"Regarding the discovery of evidence, we made two requests for testing, the first is to the Puslabfor related to checking latent fingerprints or checking DNA samples and we have submitted fingerprint samples. However, it is associated with several sample examples, for the time being the results are non-identical," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bogor City Police, Kompol Rizka Fhadila, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 29.

Regarding facial reconstruction recorded on CCTV, continued Commissioner Rizka, there have also been results. However, it is still under sharpening to be more convincing and can be juxtaposed with photos in the population service database, where the identified face lives is located.

The follow-up process of low-resolution CCTV inspections for more accurate identification in cases that have been delayed for approximately 4 years.

At that time, Noven was around 18 years old, while the perpetrator was a young man who was waiting for him on the stairs where he was killed. After several years have passed, said Rizka, there could be a change in the face of the perpetrator with maturity and style. Therefore, sharpening facial reconstruction on CCTV is needed. Currently, the Noven case has gone viral again because there are netizens making a thread on the handling of the case.

The perpetrator of the Noven murder was caught on CCTV on the road housing under the steps of the Bogor Grand Mosque belonging to residents on a residential road near the scene on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. His act of stabbing the teenager in his chest was recorded and CCTV has been secured by the police.

The man wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt and black trousers was seen waiting at the end of the alley, the scene of the incident, precisely on the stairs of the Great Mosque of Riau Street Housing, RT002/RW003, Baranangsiang Village, Bogor.

The stabbing incident occurred at 15.55 WIB. The victim is known as Yubelia Noven Cahya Rejeki, born in Bandung on November 30, 2000, who is a student of the XII Class of the Baranangsiang Vocational School Clothing School.

The case of the tragic murder of a student shocked the FBI to help investigate the case. However, until now the perpetrator of the murder of Noven has not been revealed.

The Bogor City Police Satreskrim, said Rizka, opened this case again in mid-2023 and took steps from the start.

The crime scene (TKP) to the establishment of a special team involved all police investigators in the jurisdiction of the Bogor City Police, re-examination of witnesses, and re-examination of evidence.

On the way in the past few months, said Kompol Rizka, dozens of witnesses had narrowed to six witnesses, including having been re-examined. They expressed the same information as 4 years ago when undergoing examination.

Rizka said that the police continued to step up with their fingerprints and CCTV checking again. Now the fingerprints on the Noven stabbing weapon are temporarily not found to lead to the alleged perpetrator.

"In the examination of the latent fingerprints, there were several fingerprints, it could be because the knife was held by several people after the incident, so the main perpetrator's fingerprints were not detected," said Rizka.

Regarding the possibility that the perpetrator has prepared to eliminate fingerprints on sharp weapons, according to him, this could happen. However, the police continue to make efforts to uncover cases.

In addition to sharpening the results of facial reconstruction on CCTV, the Criminal Investigation Unit is moving to develop information to Noven's friends on social media.

Satreskrim officers also intensely communicated with Noven's mother and father to report the development of the disclosure of his son's murder case.

"Their welcome is good, they are grateful, we are optimistic that we can uncover this case," said Commissioner Rizka.
