TANJUNG CELLOR - Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of North Kalimantan Province (Kaltara) proposed a Draft Regional Regulation (Ranperda) regarding local revenue (PAD) from the Surface Water Tax (PAP) sector.

Head of Bapenda Kaltara Tomy Labo said that currently his party is focusing on calculating the technical revenue from the PAP sector.

"Then it was arranged into the Ranperda such as calculating the tax value of the PAP," said Tomy Labo, Friday, September 29.

He explained that currently the calculation of the PAP through the Governor's Regulation (Pergub) ofniliaia is still very small for PAD. This is because the basis for the calculation system is still per cubic meter of water used.

"When referring to the Decree of the Minister of PUPR, the calculation of taxes is withdrawn per KWH. As of KWH, the income we get is greater. Meanwhile, so far it is still per cubic meter. That is one of the points changed in the Regional Regulation," he explained.

Tomy emphasized that the surface water tax sector in Kaltara has great m potential to contribute to local revenue (PAD). This is in line with the construction of a Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) in Kaltara.

"Yang punya potensi besar di Sungai Kayan. Tapi yang sudah berprogres yakni pembangunan PLTA Mentarang di Kabupaten Malinau," tegasnya.

Currently, the use of surface water that is taxed is still small, namely only by plantation companies.

"Not only surface water user companies, we are also targeting the PAP target from PDAM. Because PDAM is also the object in the PAP collected by the Kaltara Provincial Government," he concluded.
