BANJAR - A foreign national (WNA) from the United States (US) who had the heart to kill his own father-in-law in Banjar, West Java, apparently has a similar criminal track record. The perpetrator was arrested in an attempted murder case in his own country.

This surprising fact was revealed after the name Arthur Leigh Welohr (35) appeared in local national media reports. As reported by Fox, when he was 26 years old, Arthur was reported to have attacked two middle-aged people with a sword in the Silver Terrace area of ​​San Francisco on August 24, 2015.

As a result of the attack, two victims suffered injuries from sharp objects and had to be taken to hospital. Arthur was eventually detained by local authorities.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Banjar Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police (AKP) Ali Jupri, confirmed that Arthur had admitted to having attempted murder in his home country. However, the police are still coordinating with Immigration to collect evidence related to the case.

"The person concerned admitted that he had committed abuse in his home country. However, we (Banjar Resort Police) will check the truth with Interpol whether this is proven by his criminal record or not," said AKP Ali Jupri, Wednesday, September 27.

AKP Ali Jupri added that the Banjar Police Criminal Investigation Unit was conducting an investigation into the suspect. They also coordinate with Immigration to continue the applicable legal process.

Previously, Arthur Leigh Welohr, a foreign citizen from California, United States, was arrested by the police for killing his own father-in-law in Randegan Hamlet, Raharja Village, Purwaharja District, Banjar City, on Sunday 24 September. The victim, named Agus Sopiah (58), was found dead covered in blood in the backyard of his house.

This cruel act resulted in this foreigner from California, United States, being charged under Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning premeditated murder, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
