Acting Governor Of South Sulawesi To Check Inflation In 24 Regions

Acting Governor of South Sulawesi Bahtiar Bahharuddin will check the inflation rate of all regions in 24 regencies/cities in South Sulawesi because so far only five regions have been measured for inflation.

The five areas, Makassar City, Parepare City, Palopo City, Bulukumba Regency and Bone. While other areas are not checked for inflation.

"We check all regions for inflation. If there is no budget, we will provide a budget from the South Sulawesi Provincial Government APBD," said Bahtiar as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 23.

For this reason, Bahtiar has assigned all State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the South Sulawesi Provincial Government to plant chilies in their respective homes.

"I have assigned all ASN to plant chilies, everything must be in front of their respective homes," said the Director of Politics and General Government of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

According to him, one that affects current inflation is the availability of food sourced from the sea. Availability of food and drink, energy, and water.

"So who will produce the most food will become an valued country," he said.

Furthermore, how economic growth in South Sulawesi is influenced by the availability of adequate electricity for industrial needs.

Then energy in South Sulawesi, in order to encourage economic growth, requires assistance from PLN to increase development in the Bantaeng Industrial Estate.

"So I have to communicate immediately with PLN at the center," he said.

To support the water needs of the community in the long dry season that will occur in 2023, the government in collaboration with the TNI will develop a bore well. According to Acting Governor of South Sulawesi, one drill well can irrigate up to 35 houses during the current long dry season.

"Then we hope to make artificial rain for the needs of the agricultural community. Or in the ground, we can drill wells with a budget of only Rp. 60 million, we can enjoy one point of water up to 35 houses," he said.
