DKI KPU Reaches Voters In Hospitals Through Mobile TPS During Elections

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) reached voters in hospitals through the "TPS Around" program in the 2024 Legislative Election.

"We can't predict who will get sick on February 14th. The officers have a system whose system is only 30 days before work," said Head of the Technical Division for the Implementation of the DKI Jakarta KPU Election, Dody Wijaya, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 22.

Dody said officers from the polling group (KPPS) around the hospital would visit every related hospital room to vote.

"So the KPPS at the TPS around the hospital will tour the rooms in the hospital. It's called TPS Around 12.00 WIB until 13.00 WIB. There are two KPPS people together with the TPS supervisors who will travel around," said Dody.

Dody continued that the KPPS would bring ballot boxes to each room. However, for further field technicalities, it will be determined later in the General Elections Commission Regulation (PKPU).

"To bring a ballot booth box, like that. We will technically see it at the PKPU, if in the past we brought a booth to close it, so that the paper is guaranteed," he said.

The storage is collected and the cover of the voice will later be put into the ballot box. "But technically we will wait for the PKPU, this is yesterday's experience," said Dody.

His party will provide a special location TPS (loksus) at the Dr Cipto Mangunkusumo National Central General Hospital (RSCM) during the Legislative Election on February 14, 2023.

"Including the RSCM. This RSCM is for doctors who work on D-day, they already have a schedule, we have data," said Dody.

In addition, other health workers who are working on D day as well as patients who are still conscious to vote.

"So that applies to patients who are still in a health condition can still be aware of choosing. It means that they do not lose their right to vote, even though they are sick, we provide such services," said Dody.

Dody said TPS at a special location was provided because only RSCM had submitted the hospital.

The DKI Jakarta KPU has prepared 80 special locations at various points, ranging from detention centers to Islamic boarding schools. The number of voters at the special TPSlocation was 17,038 people.

A total of 80 special location polling stations consist of 60 polling stations in detention centers and correctional institutions (prisons) for 15,148 voters.

6040 polling stations specifically located in detention centers and prisons covering 12 polling stations at Class I detention centers in Central Jakarta, seven polling stations at Class IIA Salem Prison, one agency for TPS at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detention center.

Furthermore, one TPS at the Police Headquarters Detention Center, two TPS at the Tahti Polda Metro Jaya Detention Center and one TPS at the Jakarta Class II Children's Special Development Institute (LPKA).

Next, 10 polling stations at the Class I Detention Center in Cipinang, one TPS at the Class 2A Women's Prison in Cipinang Narcotics, two TPS at the Class I Detention Center Pondok Bambu, 11 polling stations at the Class 2A Prison in Cipinang Narcotics and 12 polling stations at the Class I Cipinang Prison.
