Detection Of 37 Hotspots In 4 Regencies Of East Kalimantan, Most In Paser

The Balikpapan Station's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) detected 37 hotspots spread across four districts in East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim).

The Coordinator for Data and Information at the Class I Meteorological Station, Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman-Sepinggan BMKG Balikpapan, Diyan Novrida, invited residents to take care of each other so that there would be no additional hotspots.

"A total of 37 hotspots were observed today from 01.00 to 16.00 WITA," he said in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Friday, September 22, which was confiscated by Antara.

Hotspots are indicators of forest or land fires (karhutla) detected from a location, with relatively high temperatures compared to the surrounding temperatures.

For this reason, he invites all levels of society to take care of each other and be vigilant, such as not throwing cigarette butts carelessly, then not burning when managing land so that there are no fires, especially forest and land fires.

The distribution of 37 hotspots has been informed to related parties, including the regional disaster management agency (BPBD) both at the provincial and related district levels to get further treatment.

"The four districts detected by 37 hotspots are Paser Regency with 10 points, North Penajam Paser 2, East Kutai 21, and Kutai Kartanegara Regency with 4 points detected," said Diyan.

The details are that 10 points in Paser spread over two sub-districts, namely Batu Sopang, 7 points with a middle level of trust, then Batu Engau District 3 points also have a middle level of trust.

North Penajam Paser Regency, which was detected at 2 hotspots, both are in Penajam District with a middle level of trust.

A total of 21 points were monitored in East Kutai, spread over three sub-districts, namely in Bengalon District 16 points, Kaubun District 3 points, and Muara Ancalong District 2 points, all of which have a middle level of trust.

"In Kutai Kartanegara, 4 points have been monitored, spread over two sub-districts, namely Loa Janan and Muara Jawa. All of them also have a middle level of trust," he said.
