Police Investigate Cause Of Forest And Land Fire In Sumay Tebo Jambi

The Tebo Police, Jambi, is still investigating the cause of the land fire in the concession area of PT Alam Bukit Tigapuluh in Pemayungan Village, Sumay District.

Tebo Police Chief AKBP I Wayan Arta Ariawan said the investigation process was currently underway.

"We will inform you of the progress further," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 20.

Meanwhile, regarding the area of the burned land, he said, the Police are still collecting data.

The police appealed to the public and the company that entering the peak of the dry season are advised not to burn land, especially in forest areas.

According to him, natural balance will be disrupted and will result in disasters if the community does not care about the environment, even destroying nature.

The police chief emphasized that the police did not hesitate to take action against the perpetrators of forest and land fires.

On September 20, 2023, forest fires in the concession area of PT Alam Bukit Tigapuluh that have occurred for the past 10 days have been successfully extinguished.

Based on information from the Tebo Regency BPBD, the fire was declared extinguished after his party checked directly into the field.

The fire in the forest area was not only due to personnel extinguishing it, one of which was another supporter because it rained on Wednesday.

The Karhutla Task Force Team also found several pieces of evidence at the location of the fire. Furthermore, the Police will still investigate the cause of the fire.

Previously, the Jambia Police detained six perpetrators of forest and land fires. The six perpetrators burned land and forests in several districts, namely West Tanjung Jabung, Batanghari, Muaro Jambi, Sarolangun and Tebo districts.
