Si Jago Merah Is Out But The Cooling Of The Jatibarang TPA Takes A Week

Semarang Mayor (Walkot) Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu said cooling the location of the former fire at the Jatibarang Final Disposal Site (TPA) took at least a week.

"The process (adamation) was extraordinary, so until 4 am (04.00 WIB) I saw only small hotspots," said Ita, Hevearita's nickname, in Semarang, Central Java, Tuesday, September 19, which was confiscated by Antara.

Even though it has been extinguished, he said, it is possible that there are still remnants of the fire, which if not anticipated could cause another fire, considering that piles of garbage contain methane gas.

"There must still be fire fires. Last night the Head of the Fire Service (Pemadam Fire) conveyed the cooling process for about a week," he said.

Therefore, Ita has asked the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Semarang City to make tents so that firefighters on guard can use them to rest and make public kitchens.

Ita expressed her gratitude to the ranks of the Semarang City Fire Department and BPBD for being quick to respond to fires at the Jatibarang TPA.

He also thanked regional heads in the hinterland around the city of Semarang, such as Semarang Regency, Salatiga City, and Kendal Regency, who had helped send the fleet.

"Yesterday when I heard (the fire), I came, I asked for 10 fleets from the Fire Department. We called SOEs, hand in hand so that last night there were 19 fire engines, plus tank trucks from various agencies," he said.

Previously, a fire hit the Jatibarang TPA area, Semarang City, on Monday (18/9) afternoon, with the hotspots first appearing in the former TPA, at the top which spread to the bottom.

It is not yet known that the trigger for the fire in the closed TPA was, but strong winds caused the fire to spread quickly into the area in the garbage pile area.
