Sudirman Said: PKS Support To Cak Imin Removes Public Doubts About Anies

JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan's spokesman, Sudirman Said, said that the PKS syuro assembly's support for PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin removed doubts over Anies Baswedan's candidacy as a 2024 presidential candidate.

So far, said Sudirman Said, there are many assumptions that Anies will face a steep road to the 2024 presidential election.

Sudirman said that the completion of the PKS syuro assembly deliberation last night officially confirmed the pair Anies and Muhaimin, called the AMIN pair.

"We feel that doubts in society will be erased, which seems to say that Mr. Anies will be constantly blocked and then will get various obstacles," said Sudirman during a press conference in Jakarta, Saturday, September 16. Sudirman is grateful that the Anies-Cak Imin pair is supported by three political parties and has met the conditions for the presidential election. Moreover, two of them are political parties supporting the government.

"Alhamdulillah, one by one, step by step yesterday in the final three parties, the number of seats and votes is quite significant, far beyond the minimum requirement of the KPU to agree or inaugurate the nomination of two people, these two pairs. That means one progress that for us must be grateful for," said Sudirman.

Sudirman also appreciated the very orderly process in determining the Anies-Cak Imin pair.

In fact, the determination of the Anies vice presidential candidate also went smoothly without obstacles. "After NasDem and PKB agreed to propose a candidate, namely Mr. Anies Baswedan and Mr. Muhaimin Iskandar as presidential readings and the vice president's reading was held in Surabaya on September 2, then followed by a gathering. We know that PKS is not yet present because there is an AD/ART, traditionally the nomination of the president and vice president must go through the syuro assembly, therefore at that time it has not been present. But responding openly to the presence of PKB and followed by a gathering between PKB, NasDem and PKS," he explained.

"We should be grateful for this because it gives a cool political atmosphere, which maintains the civility of mutual respect, mutual respect, but ultimately produces decisions that relieve all parties, especially from the nomination process of Mr. Anies and Mr. Muhaimin," added Sudirman.

Thus, the Change Coalition is ready to register the Anies-Cak Imin pair with the KPU in October.

"Once again, with the decision of the syuro assembly, three parties are officially unanimous to have a presidential candidate pair Anies Baswedan, the vice president is Mr. Muhaimin Iskandar," concluded Sudirman.
