Again, Jakarta Becomes The Number One Most Polluted City In The World, Followed By Dubai

Had dropped to fifth place, DKI Jakarta again held the first position as the most polluting major city in the world on Saturday, September 16 morning.

Based on data from the IQAir air quality monitoring site at 06.00 WIB, the air quality index (AQI) in Jakarta is at 164 or is categorized as unhealthy for the number of fine particles (PM) 2.5.

The air quality monitoring site with the latest time also lists Jakarta as the worst air quality city in the world.

After Jakarta, the city with the worst air quality is Dubai (UAE) with an air quality index at 156 and Johannesburg (South Africa) at 153.

The same thing was also recorded in the Environmental Information System and Hygiene of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Environment Agency which stated that the air quality in Jakarta in general was in the unhealthy category because of the benchmark of smooth particles pollution in the air PM2.5, the index number 108.

This figure has an explanation of the level of air quality is unhealthy because it can be detrimental to humans or groups of animals that are sensitive or can cause damage to plants or aesthetic values.

However, the standard air polluting index (ISPU) in the HI Roundabout is in the medium category with the number 82.

The moderate category means that air quality has no effect on human or animal health but has an effect on sensitive plants and aesthetic values with a PM2.5 range of 51-100.
