A Hot Spot Emerged, Fire At The Mojokerto TPA Randegan Successfully Embedded

MOJOKERTO - The hotspots had reappeared at the Randegan Final Disposal Site (TPA), Kedundung Village, Magersari District, Mojokerto City, Saturday, September 9. However, this fire was successfully tamed.

As is known, the fire at the Randegan TPA has occurred since Friday, September 8. The fire was extinguished, but then several hotspots appeared again.

The Mojokerto City Government also took quick action. The disaster preparedness team (tagana) was deployed to help cut off the fire so that it would not spread and spread again. "The fire occurred on Friday from around 18.30 WIB to 22.30 WIB and we managed to extinguish it by deploying eight fire engines. Then Saturday morning the hotspots appeared again, we were still wary of not to get bigger, the possibility of the cause was due to extreme weather," said the Mojokerto City Environmental Service (DLH), Amin Wachid in Mojokerto, Sunday, September 10.

Although the fire was successfully tamed again, the smoke from the burning of garbage continued to billow to spread to most residential areas. He said, in anticipation of preventing health disturbances from occurring, joint officers from the East Java Provincial BPBD together with the firefighters, Satpol PP, DLH, and the Mojokerto City Health Office have now built a health post. "We have deployed the PKM Kedundung health and ambulance team for the distribution of masks, each KK is given 10 masks, all health checks, and vitamin distribution," said the Head of the Mojokerto City Health, Population Control and Family Planning Service (Dinkesppkb), Farida Mariana. Meanwhile, the Social Service, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (Dinsosppa) Mojokerto City also opened a public kitchen to provide food for the joint team and volunteers who helped in the incident.

"We have prepared packaged rice for officers and volunteers, and the Social Service has also opened a public kitchen to provide food for the personnel involved and play a role in efforts to extinguish the fire carried out by the firefighters, as well as for the people affected by the fire," said the Head of the Mojokerto City Social Service Office, Choirul Anwar.

Coordination continues to be carried out after the fire, there are two fire engines from the Mojokerto City Government who continue to be alerted to do wetting. Thus, a total of 30 joint officers continue to be alerted at the location. "We continue to coordinate with DLH as well as firefighters, including the security ranks of the police, the Koramil and also the Satpol PP. We also coordinate with the health office for medical personnel on standby at the location. We involve the Magersari District tramtib to monitor developments in the assistance of the Kedundung Village apparatus," said Kedungung Village Head, Nurihudah. The Mojokerto City PUPR PERAKIM Service has also deployed heavy equipment (escavators) to open piles of garbage. To avoid the fire from spreading to residents' settlements, the fire has been localized by making ditches. Until today, the smoke condition due to the garbage fire has been relatively reduced.
