Ministry Of Transportation Says Number Of Jabodebek LRT Passengers Reaches 30,000 Per Day

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Adita Irawati said, since the Jabodebek LRT operated on August 28, 2023, there were around 30,000 people riding each day. "On average, 30,000 people. We have not received the latest update, but as of Wednesday afternoon, the number of passengers served by the Jabodebek LRT reached 331,947 people," Aditya said in his statement, Saturday, September 9.Adita revealed, service rates amounted to IDR 5,000 until the end of September 2023, getting a positive response from the community. "Alhamdulillah, so far the feedback we have received is relatively positive," said Adita. Currently, the Jabodebek LRT tariff is subject to a flat tariff of IDR 5,000 for all destinations until September 2023. After the promo period, the LRT tariff will be set to be IDR 5,000 for the first 1 kilometer and IDR 700 per kilometer. "After September, we will apply a maximum tariff scheme of IDR 20,000 for all service routes, but we will still open options for promo implementation with other schemes if there is further input," he added.

Adita hopes that the Jabodebek LRT tariff can be utilized properly by the community and affect the shift in the use of private vehicles to public transportation. "Hopefully the presence of LRT with subsidized rates can provide alternative modes of transportation to the public so that it does not depend on private vehicles," he concluded.
