Access to the entrance to Pulau Rempang, Batam is closely guarded by joint officers from the integrated team after clashes between officers and residents on Thursday. The clash occurred when residents faced land measurements for the development of the Rempang Eco City project.

Strict security was carried out at Jembatan IV Barelang, Pulau Rempang, Galang District, Batam City to anticipate the presence of residents who intercept land matching.

A number of fully uniformed officers were seen guarding the entrance entrance. Not only that, the officers also checked the vehicles leading to the island of Rempang.

Each vehicle is checked by officers. In fact, the officers did not hesitate to ask motorcyclists and cars that had no interest in entering the island of Rempang to make a U-turn.

This was done because the officers of the integrated joint team would again search the location at the benchmark points.

On a number of roads, residents have been active normally, and there is no road blockade. However, at several other locations, residents are still guarding the area of their respective villages.

Kapolresta Barelang, Kombes Pol Nugroho Tri Nuryanto said, the current situation on Pulau Rempang is conducive. The highway to Galang has started to return to normal.

The integrated team officers have set up seven posts along the road from Bridge IV. Each post is guarded by personnel from the TNI, Polri, Satpol PP and BP Batam.

"Alhamdulillah, now the situation is conducive. All roads from Bridge IV to Galang District have no obstacles, there are no more blocking. People's traffic is running normally.

On a number of roads, residents have been active normally, and there is no road blockade. However, at several other locations, residents are still guarding the area of their respective villages.
