Minister Nadiem Calls Regional Autonomy Giving Inspires Independence In The Education Sector

Minister of Education and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim assessed that the provision of autonomy to local governments (Pemda) had a positive impact.

According to Nadiem, good practices from regional autonomy inspired the Ministry of Education and Culture to provide greater independence for stakeholders in the field of education.

"Through the Merdeka Learning Movement, the Merdeka Campus (MBKM) since 2019 until today, we are trying to autonomy for higher education institutions to improve learning and management," he said at Jenderal Sudirman University (Unsoed) Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, Friday, September 8, which was confiscated by Antara.

Of the 26 episodes of Freedom of Learning launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture, he said, 10 of them were directly related to the transformation of higher education.

He considered that the first breakthrough was the eight MBKM Programs which are currently attended by more than 760 thousand students from all over Indonesia.

"On this auspicious occasion, I also want to express my deepest appreciation to Jenderal Sudirman University which continues to present innovations with Merdeka Campus programs," he said.

Mendikbudristek mengatakan Unsoed telah melakukan sejumlah inisiatif yang sangat baik dan salah satunya membentuk Pusat MBKM untuk memastikan alignment antara curricula dan manajemen kampus dengan kebijakan nasional.

Pius Lustrilanang was inaugurated as Honorary Professor by Unsoed Chancellor Prof Akhmad Sodiq accompanied by Senate Chairman Unsoed Prof Mas Yedi Sumaryadi.

The inauguration was also attended by a number of state officials such as the Chairman of the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) Isma Yatun and the Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin.
