Ridwan Kamil's Name Is Not Included In The Coalition's Discussion As A Vice President Candidate For Ganjar

JAKARTA - PPP Secretary General Arwani Thomafi revealed the name Ridwan Kamil (RK) as Ganjar Pranowo's vice presidential candidate until now has not been included in the discussion of the coalition or discussion of the elite political parties that support Ganjar.

Thus, the name RK has not been included in the internal discussion of the party that carries Ganjar, namely PDIP, PPP, Hanura and Perindo.

"In the meeting of the general chairmen, the names (Ridwan Kamil) have not yet appeared. In a wider meeting, the secretary general and elite political parties at the DPP of each political party have not yet appeared," said Arwani, Thursday, September 7.

Arwani admitted that he heard the name Ridwan Kamil, including one of the candidates to accompany Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election. However, he said, the name of the former Governor of West Java was not at all included in the internal discussion of the party carrying Ganjar.

"Of course we are also not in a position to mention that name, but we heard, indeed we think that name (RK) is also what we heard (as Ganjar's vice presidential candidate)," said Arwani.

Arwani also revealed that the presidential candidate accompanying Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election will be discussed and determined by the political party leaders who carry Ganjar.

"So we have to put it in our respective positions. That is, the space to discuss and decide on the vice presidential candidate Mas Ganjar, of course, we will always uphold our commitment to give trust and respect for Mrs. Megawati, who will later be with the generals, of course, will carry out that stage," he said.

PPP, said Arwani, is still fighting for the Chairman of the National Bappilu PPP Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno to become Ganjar Pranowo's vice presidential candidate. According to him, Sandiaga Uno is not a new figure in the presidential election arena because he has run in the 2019 presidential election with significant votes. Currently, he said, Sandiaga Uno's survey results are in the top three candidates for vice presidential candidates with the highest electability.

"The figure who also has the ability is in the economic field, he is also the perpetrator, yes, now he is very close to the world of tourism. The figure of Sandi is also very much with the ulama, both in West Java, Central Java, and in East Java and in several other provinces, we have seen all of them on several political events," said Arwani.
