The Truck Driver Who Hit A Family In Sukabumi Becomes A Suspect

Sukabumi Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) named the truck driver with the initials S as a suspect in a traffic accident on Jalan Raya Sukabumi-Bogor, Cikukulu Village, Sukabumi Regency, West Java on Sunday, (3/9). As a result of the accident, one victim died and two others were critical.

"The determination of the suspect to the truck driver after we conducted a crime scene (TKP), asking for information from witnesses, collecting evidence, one of which was CCTV footage showing the seconds of the accident in Cisande Village, Cicantayan District," said Head of Law Enforcement Unit of Sukabumi Police, Ipda M Yanuar Fajar, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 5.

According to Fajar, from the results of the investigation, it was revealed that S was negligent in driving a truck numbered F 8553 SI, even driving his vehicle at high speed, so that when passing at the location of the truck, he swerved to the left.

At the same time at the location, there was a family who was shopping for tarpaulin at a shop.

As a result, S, who could not control his vehicle, entered the parking lot of the shop and hit a family who was about to leave on a motorbike.

Finally, a family was hit by a truck driven by the suspect. As a result of the accident, one person died on the spot in the name of Saikun (50), while his wife Marini (48) and son M Dirga (8) were critical and are still receiving treatment at the Sekarwangi Hospital in Cibadak.

The three victims were registered as residents of Cipayung Village, RT 05/05, Darmareja Village, Nagrak District, Sukabumi Regency. The victim's body has been buried in a public cemetery (TPU) not far from his house.

At the time of the accident, the traffic flow was smooth, and it could even be said to be quiet. However, it is suspected that the suspect drove a truck loaded with reckless rock and lost concentration, causing an accident.

"The suspect was charged with Article 310 paragraph 4 of UURI Number 22 of 2009 concerning road traffic and transportation because his negligence caused a traffic accident and resulted in the victim's death which carries a prison sentence of six years and a fine of Rp. 12 million," he added.
