Ayuterra Resort Ubud Closed Pascatrage In Elevator Falls 5 Employees

GIANYAR - Ayuterra Resort Ubud, Gianyar, Bali was temporarily closed after the accident of the elevator that killed 5 employees. The resort guest was moved to another inn.

"For the time being, we don't receive guests first. Because, we will focus on resolving the main problem first," said Ayuterra Resort Ubud's head of the legal team, I Nyoman Wirajaya, Tuesday, September 5.

Currently, the police are still investigating the case of the fall of the elevator that killed the 5 people. Police are still looking for evidence related to the investigation process.

Wirajaya did not comment on the police's statement regarding the reduction of one rope.

"I don't want to enter that realm. That's the first thing, because the work on the Inclinator problem is that it is still the responsibility of the vendor, so what investigators find is welcome," he said.

The resort has also provided compensation to the families of the victims who died as a result of the elevator crash. Per family called Wirajaya received compensation of around Rp45 million.

"We have done it too. We have given a total of almost 45 million, one victim, the five victims received the same number except in different BPJS areas. Because there are special provisions for BPJS employees who are permanent and employees who are contracts. But the difference is not that big," he said.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Gianyar Police, Bali, AKP Ario Seno Wimoko, suspects that one of the causes of the elevator fell at Ayuterra Resort Ubud, Gianyar, Bali, due to a reduction in steel sampling ropes.

"Actually, one of the reasons it fell down was because the rope broke. We have to separate this, so it would be better if there were two sling ropes. Or it could be more, even better. Because if one break there is backup, right like that," said AKP Ario Seno, Tuesday, September 5.

The police said that initially there were 3 rope slit lifts at Ayuterra Resort Ubud. But in March 2023, the tie was reduced by one.

"If we say the rope can carry a burden of 500 kilograms, 1 ton should be more than enough. But if there is only one (sling rope) there is no backup if it breaks. The name is rope as strong as it can break," he added.

There were also facts about the absence of an emergency brake at the Ayuterra Resort Ubud elevator. This accident is said to be fatal.

"The emergency brake can be said to be non-existent. There are only brakes but according to technical information, the point is to slow down. It turns out that it doesn't slow down either. (My brakes) don't really know the term. (It's a brake) inside the elevator wheel, it doesn't work, so as seen in the video, it goes down there," he said.
