Muncul Dari Seman-Seak, KKB Shoot Warga Saat Tutup Kiosk

JAYAPURA- An armed criminal group (KKB) has continued to spread terror. This time, they shot a resident in Kago Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Friday, September 1.

"(The shooting) is suspected to have been carried out by the KKB in the Puncak area," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, Saturday, September 2.

The shooting began when the victim, Antonius Padang, was about to close his stall at around 18.38 WIT. However, suddenly the KKB appeared and shot him right in the leg.

"This shooting allegedly used homemade firearms. The perpetrator suddenly emerged from the bushes and shot the victim and hit his right knee," he said.

When the incident occurred, the joint security forces from the TNI-Polri immediately responded and headed to the source of the gunshot. However, when the authorities arrived at the scene, the perpetrator had fled.

"After a sweep, members quickly evacuated Antonius Padang to Ilaga Hospital, Kampung Kago, for medical treatment," said Benny.

Kapolres Puncak, Kompol I Nyoman Punia menegaskan, pihaknya akan mengejar dan menangkap pelaku. Sehingga, mereka akan dihadapi pada proses hukum yang sesuai.

"We will not remain silent in dealing with crimes like this. We will pursue the perpetrators to process the law with applicable laws," said Punia.
