JAKARTA - A man named Haerudin was desperate to commit suicide by jumping from the Jatipulo Village bridge, Palmerah District, West Jakarta, Friday night, September 1, evening.

The Palmerah resident jumped from the bridge and threw himself into the river at around 19:45 WIB. Until now, the victim's body has been missing and has not been found.

Based on the testimony of a witness named Evan, the incident began when he was sitting on the edge of the river embankment. Suddenly he heard a sound falling from the bridge. Evan also turned to where the sound came from.

"The sound of the sound then sank into the water. When I looked over the bridge, it turned out that there was a motorbike on the side of the road over the bridge," the witness told the officer.

The incident was then reported to the Palmerah Police. Furthermore, the police coordinated with the SAR Team to search for victims.

Palmerah Police Chief Kompol Slamet Riyadi said joint personnel were still searching the location.

"Until now the victim has not been found. We have contacted the SAR team and confiscated evidence of a black Revo Fit motorbike allegedly belonging to the victim," he said.

Reportedly, residents around Palmerah gathered at the scene to see officers conducting the search. Residents were surprised, did not expect the incident to occur.
