The Prosecutor's Office Detains Again Corruption Suspects Of NTT Provincial Government Land Assets

KUPANG - Special Criminal Investigators of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province High Prosecutor's Office have detained Bahasuri Papan as another suspect in the corruption case in the use of land assets of the NTT Provincial Government (Pemprov) covering an area of 31.670 hectares in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency.

"Investigators have detained Basurai Papan, who is a suspect in the corruption case of using 31,670 square meters of land assets belonging to the NTT Provincial Government on Wednesday (30/8) night," said Head of the Legal Information Section of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office, Raka Putra Dharmana in Kupang, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 31.

The detention of the suspect, Bahasari Papan, who is a businessman in Jakarta, was carried out by investigators after going through the examination process as a suspect.

Bahasili Papan is known as a shareholder at PT Sarana Wisata Internusa (SWI) and PT Sarana Investama Manggabar (SIM) and acts as the party that initiated PT SWI to build and manage Plago Hotel and collaborate with the NTT Provincial Government.

Bahasuri Papan is the fourth suspect who has been detained by investigators from the NTT High Prosecutor's Office in the case of alleged corruption in the land assets of the NTT Government covering an area of 31,670 square meters on Pede Beach, Gorontalo Village, Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, which has been built. Plago Hotel cost the state Rp8.5 billion.

"The detention of the suspect was carried out after investigators from the NTT High Prosecutor's Office found two pieces of preliminary evidence sufficient to determine Basurai Papan as a suspect," said Raka Putra Dharmana.

The suspect, Bahasari Papan, has been detained by prosecutors at the Kupang Class II State Detention Center for the next 20 days.

The suspect Bahasuri Papan is suspected of having participated together with other suspects in a criminal act of corruption which resulted in state losses reaching Rp8.5 billion.

In the case of land assets in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, Special Crime Investigators at the NTT Provincial Attorney's Office have also detained three suspects, namely Lydia Chrisanty Sunaryo (Director of PT Sarana Wisata Internusa), Thelma DS Bana (Head of Asset Utilization / Goods User) and Heri Pranyoto (Director of PT Sarana Wisata Internusa).

"In the case of corruption in land assets belonging to the NTT Regional Government in Labuan Bajo, there are already four suspects who have been detained by the NTT High Prosecutor's Office investigators," said Raka Putra Dharmana.
